Fair Property Taxes
I will be fully focused on finding 62 more House votes, some of whom must be Republicans, to present a constitutional amendment for your vote. Residents' share of real property taxes has risen from 38% to 57% in the past 35 years. Only a new amendment can fix that.
Constituent Service
Engagement. Paul will return your emails and your phone calls. He will listen to what you have to say and provide a clear reason for the votes he takes.
Help with Agencies. When your case falls through the cracks with a state agency, Paul will help you fix that. If you need help navigating a federal or local agency, he will help you find the right channel and get the help you need there.

Other Issues
Clean energy, air, and water. Yes. Always. This is good for Kansas' economy. Kansas is an insignificant producer of fossil fuels, but a major player in wind power. It also means a healthier, more productive workforce.
Cost of Living. Lower property taxes will put more money in your pocket. Clean energy is now cheaper than fossil fuel energy; that helps with your utility bills. Paul will also look for anything the state can do to lower insurance premiums and the cost of building infrastructure.
Health Care. All people deserve access to health care. Kansas deserves Medicaid expansion.
Economy. Unions deserve greater freedom or organize. Maintaining good infrastructure, good public education and high quality of life around the state does more to promote a strong economy than corporate welfare. Raising the minimum wage will increase the power of many working Kansans to add to economic growth.
Transportation. In addition to maintaining highways, Paul will support robust, affordable mass transit and more bikeable and walkable communities. He will work to provide state support for more buses at greater frequency, more sidewalks and bike-lanes, and expanding the Street Car into Kansas.
Corporate Welfare (e.g. the new football Stadium). It should be rare. It should bring something new to the whole region. It should not be a handout to billionaires to move a stadium a few miles (and farther away from the 31st district than it is now). If it is still open for discussion in 2027, Paul will advocate to keep new sales tax revenue in the 31st District out of the pool used to subsidize the new stadium.
Human Rights. All people deserve freedom from government interference. People should be free to choose their gender identity - even which bathroom they use. Any member of a historically oppressed group deserves to have access to the resources they need to offset the generational disadvantages thrust upon them.
Reproductive Rights. Kansans spoke for themselves in 2022. Paul will honor that vote and work to defend access to abortion.
Veterans. Support granting disabled veterans exemption from paying personal property taxes on their first vehicle. Oppose for-profit, unregulated companies taking a portion of veterans' benefits to help them with their claims. There is a federally regulated system of trained Veterans Service Officers to help veterans in this way.
